100/10 - I had the Ontama beef rice bowl with garlic mayo. It's SOOOO good but with 2 teenagers the bill can be over $60 so I often contemplate sneaking off for a bowl on my own.

My go-to place for a quick hearty meal in Pearl City. The thinly sliced beef bowls are delicious and flavorful over hot white rice. The onions are sweet and the beef is surprisingly not tough, so you're getting good ingredients. There are lots of seats indoors with self service sauces and togarashi but most people get takeout. This time I got the takoyaki on top, and they were pretty good to curb the craving.

I ordered the beef curry udon and it was delicious! I usually like my curry udon a little on the thicker side and this one was more brothy, but it still had a lot of curry flavor. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick! It's a fast casual restaurant where you order your food, pick it up, seat yourself and bus your own table, which was cool. Will go back!

I come here once in a while because I like their ontama beef rice bowl. It's good but nothing amazing. I think it would be a lot better if it was more saucy and had more onions with it. I also ordered a side of vegetable tempura and that was tasty but it could've been crispier. Overall, this place is nice if you want rice and something quick. The prices are pretty reasonable and they have a lot of options ranging from beef bowls to curry and udon.

10% Military & Student discount :) My son and I stopped into Matsuzaka-Tei last week to enjoy a quick bite for lunch. We didn't have any prior game plan, but the menu isn't too extensive to decide on the fly. We opted for two beef bowls - one Ontama (egg) & one w/vegetable tempura. Then, of course, we got a 3pc Takoyaki side order because we like to try the Takoyaki everywhere lol. The mini beef bowls were the perfect size for us, and the Takoyaki was simply delicious! We wish the vegetable temp was a little bigger... it was pretty tiny. Service was fast and friendly, though it's just a person at a register, not the full dine-in experience. We initially were gonna do takeout, but decided to eat at an open table; there were quite a few. The restaurant was pretty clean & cozy, in my opinion, and lunchtime had a steady flow of takeout customers. There's plenty more to try from the menu, so I'm sure we'll be back soon! Next time, my son and I agreed we'd order the beef bowl w/takoyaki on top cuz it sort of needed that extra sauce. Ps. Get a stamp card! :)

My husband & I's go to when we're in Pearl city. It's a cute little hole in the wall for Japanese food! There's usually only one cashier and one person working the back. Each time we go, the cashiers are always friendly. Our favorites are the beef bowl & pork tonkatsu with curry. I always order the mini beef bowl and it's A LOT. The portion size is very generous. I always get green onions as my topping for an additional ($2), yes it's a bit expensive for green onions but they top it with a lot of green onions! I also get a side of curry. I love dipping my beef with curry, topped with the green onions and the pickled daikon on the side. Delish! They also have pickled ginger which my husband opts for. I recently tried the takoyaki and it was ok. Nothing special about it imo. We usually spend about $50-60 on a meal which can be a little much... but the freshness of the food and quality of the food is superb. I love supporting small businesses and local business! I don't know of any other Oahu business that sells beef gyudon like this. I highly recommend this place to get your gyudon fix.

Sometimes I really missed Japanese fast food, one of them is Gyuudon(beef bowl), and I found out this place is close to my house. I and my husband decide to pick up our lunch here, then ordered through Uber eats for pick up. That was easy and it said 15-20 mints to ready but 5 min later got a notification our food is ready! Located at Pearl City Shops next Sam's FmGas station. There are parking lot there. It's cozy but enough tables in there (box seats type). Picking up food is easy, there is a counter and pick up on the left, order on the right. I ordered medium beef rice bowl with ontama(2pcs), my husband ordered medium curry rice bowl. I gave one ontama to my husband, my beef rice bowl and my husband's curry rice bowl are both good! Lucky if I miss Japanese meal I can get here.
